K-State Women win Big XII Title
For a brief moment Wednesday night, Allen Fieldhouse seemed more like a
Kansas State home game than a place where those beware of the Phog.
Chants of "Big 12 Champs" came from the
purple-clad Wildcat fans that made up at least half of those in
attendance as No. 19 K-State shutout Kansas in the final four minutes of
the game to win 61-50 and claim at least a share of the Big 12
championship.

Kansas State, which won its first league title since the 2003-04
season, literally went from worst to first in a year. The Wildcats
trudged through a 4-12 conference season a year ago, but came back this
year after a slow start in the non-conference and won its second
conference title in the last five years.
